Well, I did it. I just ordered a Dozier Straight Personal w/ coral micarta handle from AG Russel. I wanted black handle first but this is a birthday gift from my wife for me and ordering the black handle from Dozier would have been a 4 month wait. (1 month past my birthday) AG Russel had the coral and yellow coming in in a couple weeks so I decided to go with that. Plus, colors (other then black) are a little less intimidating to some people from what I have heard, and since this will be my EDC that may be nice.

This will be my first custom/handmade knife ever and I'm really looking forward to getting it. I'm new to this board and looking through all the archives has really helped me in deciding to go with a Dozier knife. This seems like a great place, with a whole lot of information to be learned. Thanks to all who had written about these in the past, without knowing it your oppinions helped me make my decision.

I'm glad you're finding this place useful as well as fun. I know I've learned an amazing amount since I found BladeForums.

And I'm sure you'll love your Dozier almost as much as I love mine! :D  :)

You made a fine choice for your first custom knife. If your not happy with it,just send it back and we'll fix you up...of course, I dont think that will be a problem,as they're great knives. I just recently put a Slim Outdoorsman (probably my favorite model) with jigged brown bone scales on layaway as a b-day present for myself.

If youve got any questions comments or concerns call em up and ask for Robert.

Gotta hand it to ya, you picked my favorite knife to write about as your first post. You will absolutely love your Dozier straight personal. I have one that I custom ordered with desert ironwood handles and it is my favorite knife that I have. I also have a Dozier Toothpick in black micarta with a red inlay... just like the one on his website. I usually carry one or the other on a daily basis, because as you will find out... nothing cuts like a Dozier! The straight personal is small enough to fit in your pocket for those sheeple environment situations, and practically disappears on your belt with the horizontal sheath. Don't let the sub 3" blade fool ya, this knife cuts like the dickens. If you have a digital camera, please post a pic of the coral micarta... it has intrigued me almost enough to order a third Dozier!
congrats on your choice, and welcome to BFC

Welcome to the Forums!:)

The Straight Personal is on my short list. I have the Agent and I'm very happy with it. You will really enjoy it.

You'll be happy you found this site, as well.:D

Slide,
Congrats on your Dozier!! Great one to start with.
You'll love it!!!:D

Welcome Slide!
BTW, you are now Officially Hooked
;)
There is no going back
And be warned DK's are just like potato chips...
Ya can't have just one!
(& that's a good thing)
:D

Great choice of knife! How are you planning on carrying yours? I was lucky enough to pick up a little Dozier fixed at the Blade show. It would be in my EDC rotation except that my understating of VA knife laws is that I would have to carry the fixed blade openly to be legal. OK for the rifle range but not suitable for the office.

The Dozier SP was my first custom also. I can remember
looking at it when I got it and thinking "I paid $135 for this
little knife?" Boy! :D Did I get a suprized when I used it:eek:

What sweet little knife for everyday:D :D :D

I didn't car fore the kydex sheathe so I made a leather pouch sheath
for mine that made it a PERFECT daily carry for me. It ride next to
my leatherman when I'm not at work (no straight blades anymore!)

Enjoy this little guy as you'll now find much it won't do that a larger
knife is supposed to do.

Goog move, Slide. My first custom was a Dozier also. Bob's knives are pure cutting machines!!!!
