A BK9 should be here next week.

I have been lurking in the BK&T forum for a little while now, I have not posted much at all. But I have enjoyed all of the Pics of your Becker knives, and the wealth of information that abounds my screen when ever I go back through the archives. Because of you BK&T fans I have made my decision on the BK9.

This will be my first Becker and thought I would go all out with the 9. I have known about the BK9 for a good long while and never gave it much thought to be honest I thought it was dare I say UGLY. The thumb ramp just turned me off and I can't stand the black traction coating. And then I realized something, a thought that never really occured to me before a a couple of months ago MOD it. So I started to look up how to mod and customize knives and that brought me to you fine people. I much appreciate the picture of stock and modded beckers and they have given me so many ideas. In fact I was looking at the Custom Becker thread when I decided to order.

So thank you to everyone on the BK&T forum for helping me make up my mind.

Is it bad that I am already looking at a BK2, I think not.:D

Went right for the big guns, haha. Awesome man, congrats on purchasing a hell of a blade. My most used Becker. Really like that thing. Welcome to the forum.

I don't have a 2 yet...
A situation that will soon be rectified.
The 9 is HELL-A awesome!
My go-to these days.

My ol' worn out photo to hold you over:

If I remember correctly (it's been a while), the 9 was my first Becker as well. Great choice!

Here are a couple pics of mine. I'll have to take some more in better lighting.

The 2 appeals to me for a few reasons, mostly I like the idea of short heavy knife. But I really like large bowie type knives. hence the 9.

The 9 is just a WICKED cool knife. I'd carry mine around every day if I could. I don't have many pictures of mine, but here's one.

You'll be never happier with the Queen/King

Get both!

I have threads on stripping and putting a patina on both the BK9 and BK2!

UPDATE
While I was away earlier this week my BK9 showed up. I am very pleased with what I saw when I opened up the box. I was surprised the knife is not as large as I thought it would be but no complaints. I am mostly surprised by the handles I thought they would be much larger. This is the first time I have held a BK9 or any other BK&T blade. I am very very pleased with the handls they are extremly comfortable just a little slippy. I had one problem when I got to inspecting the knife the handle scales were not lined up properly, no big deal I removed them and put them back on proper all is good. Please forgive me not having any pics I have not been able to upload them as of right now.

But I have done the usual so far, Cut some printer paper to test edge VERY SHARP and I have the cut to prove it. I have chopped some small limbs and batoned a 4" diameter piece of pecan. It was awesome! I plan to do more when the weather gets better. The BK9 has benched my faithfull companion the SP10 I have had the SP10 for almost 20 years now and it deserves a good retirment. I think this is going to be the start of a great friendship.

I can not wait to get modding this weekend hopefully! Over all I could not be happier with this knife, I only wish I had gotten one much much sooner. Now I have to decide what to get next the 16 or the 2?

Congrats! Hope you like it and use it well.
