Just ordered my first Becker :)

Well, after reading the posts and all the praise that everyone has for Beckers, I finally broke down and ordered one last night. A BK17. There's just something about a clip point blade that makes them irresistible to me. I'm pretty excited about it and can't wait for it to arrive. One thing I'd like to find for it is a kydex or leather sheath.

Glad to finally be a Becker owner!
 
Congrats let us know how long the one becker thing goes. Lasted less than a week for me.

The 17 is one of the few I have yet to aquire, I've been trying to get one for some time now but just hasn't worked out for whatever reason.
I recently acquired its big bro the BK7, absolutely love it, and it was at the bottom of my list.

You should be very happy with the 17 but it will leave you wanting more. Not due to any insufficientcies but more so you'll like it so much and want to try others.

Check out the Ka-Bar Fighter/Utility short leather sheath for a very affordable alternative to custom leather. Should be around $10 shipped.

As NCSlice noted, the KaBar Short Leather sheaths (1251S Brown, 1256S Black) are a great fit for the 15/16/17 and can be found online for $10 shipped.

Several of our BFmates here make excellent custom leather and kydex sheaths.
 
It's a wonderful thing to be. Not only do you get the best knives around at your disposal, but you get to hang out with the beckerheads, an honor I grow to appreciate more every day!

Congrats on the 17, I bought it when I was buying my first beckers (5&15) strictly because of its looks. It has (for me), the best feel of any of the tweeners, very solid yet very lively. It doesn't hurt that mine came with the best fit and finish of any of my beckers. It's a solid knife that is perfect for everything shy of chopping - and let's be real, you'll have a 4 or a 9 at *some* point!

Nice first choice! I waited to get the 17 last (-ish).....but I do like the lines of it. Knowing me, it'll probably get taken to the grinder at some point, but for now it's my first Becker - first BK17 Becker, that is. Still, totally looking forward to it. Been wanting one for a while. I've got a couple other tweeners, so I know I'll like the ergos. Be interesting to see how I like it compared to the 15 and 16.

Nice one bruvva! I got the 17 for my wife not long after I got the 16 for me. When I received it I told my wife to bugger off and kept the 17 for myself. I've been hungry ever since..
 
Good choice with the 17, for me have been working pretty well ,really love the bowie looks and IMHO is the perfect hunting companion

She's a purty one! Congrats on your new 17. It will only be a week or so and you'll have to add a 9. I promise. It's just the way the world works. Now go scuff that 17 up like mad!

Strip it, give it a satin finish and matching scales and grips.
Thatd be a beauty set there!
