Hello!

I just ordered a SAR 8 SE off the company store with black/green g10. I've never owned/used/held/ or even seen a Busse in person. Never used anything Infi. Here's hoping I made a good choice. ;)

I'm looking for opinions on the sheath options available. I'm leaning toward leather, and I typically prefer a drop/lower hanging sheath, but any suggestions would be great.

Can't wait to see my new knife.

Congrats on your first Busse! The SAR-8 is an excellent choice; it's my favorite do-it-all camp knife. But that being said, be warned that INFI is terribly addictive - you'll probably want to add a matching Game Warden soon...then a....and a...(you get the idea)
Best Wishes and Welcome,
"Bloody Bill"

By the way, I have sheaths by ChuddyBear, Leatherman (Armoralleather), and Rainwalker; all three are outstanding makers of fine leather sheaths.

I will also throw my vote in for Chuddy Bear. He is my go to sheath maker and has made me a lot of great ones.

Congrats! You made a wise choice. Now keep in mind that is a satin finish so I would suggest leather. Two I love are Chubby Bear and Leatherman's sheaths are worth every penny!

Could you post a pic of the handle as your choice of knife is kinda of rare. I, for one would like a better look at the handle slabs. I really like the Black/green g-10.

Congrats on the SAR 8! You won't go wrong with INFI.

I've got a Chuddy Bear Dangler for my CGFBM, and it's awesome. I've also had leather from Dwayne (Leatherman here on BF), and they're pretty bomb-proof, too. Mikey Moto also makes some top-notch leather from what I understand.

Here's a pic of my Chuddy Bear sheath. It's the Brown one - I made the black one. :D

I'll go against the grain here and say give kydex a look.

If you want your knife to look pretty and stay free of scratches, leather is great, but if you're going to beat on it until it is scratched anyway, kydex is easier to clean, lighter, and doesn't suffer from rot or absorption of moisture.

I'm with MM on this one, Kydex will put some scratches on satin, but on a user it's the best. No need to worry about rot/water etc..

As soon as it arrives, I'll post up some pictures.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, those dangler sheaths from Chuddy Bear look like they might be just about perfect for me.

Get a tactical sheath from Sempre Paratus. That way you can go out in the rain and even swim with your Bushwacker. They have a pouch into which you can put a sharpener (I prefer DMT) and a compass.

I like the looks of those SAR 8s,congrats!I'm waiting for my first hunk of INFI also,it's a FFBM.Always wanted a Mistress, might as well be a fat one!!!Been lurking in the Busse forums for awhile, thought I could resist, silly rabbit.Already e-mailed David Brown, mines not satin,so I'm going for kydex.

I also use kydex for my satin infi. Sure you will get sheath rash, but I have put just as many scratches on it from using it anyway.

I've been watching the for sale forum for months watching the FFBM's, very nearly bought a couple of them. I was bored and took a look at the store today and saw the SAR 8's in stock so I jumped on one. I just really like convex grinds. :)
