Just ordered my first Emerson!

As the title says above, I just ordered my first Emerson knife. I'm very new to the knife world and currently own only three knives to date. My first knife that got me into collecting knives is the Spyderco Tenacious, after that I knew I'd become obsessed with knives. Then I ordered a Benchmade Adamas and love that as well. I chose to ordered an Emerson next because I've only heard positive things about the reliablility and quality of their knives, they also look pretty nice too! I finally found the one i've been looking for that is in stock; the Emerson CQC-7V Stonewashed Tanto with a plain edge blade and Tan G10 scales. Can someone that owns this knife tell me how they like it and if its been good to them? Thanks a bunch and I look foward to learning a lot on this forum!

I just purchased the same knife a few weeks ago and it is now one of my favorites. You will really enjoy the wave feature. Ergos are great and the blade is deadly sharp. Did you order the stonewash?
 
I was torn between this knife and the cqc10. I chose the cqc10 but plan on buying a tanto Emerson at some point. I also have my eyes in a A100 or mini. There are just so many choices and thats just Emerson! I'd really like a Adamas also. Let us know how you like it!
 
Right on! Yes I did order stonewashed, could you possibly tell me what that is exactly?

Yes the Adamas is a hefty sucker, but blade shape, size, and width are large and extremely sturdy. I call it my "fixed" folder knife :D
 
Yes i love gpknives. I ordered my Benchamade Adamas off www.gpknives.com for only 114$ when every other site was selling it for 160$+. The ower emailed with me and replied very quickly with the price and I recieve my knife within 3 days. Great retailer!
 
I had that knife and liked it a lot. The only reason I flipped it was because it carried a tad more blocky than my other Emerson's.

That is one beautiful blade. Was that the only Emerson you had? If not, whats you're favorite Emerson model? I purchased the blade for EDC and self defesnse because of the tanto shape.
 
I just ordered a CQC-15 today with Stonewash finish. Kinda like a combination of the 7 series and commander blades. You get a tanto with a recurve blade. Very cool and lethal. I believe some people call it a SPANTO.

Seems like the satin finishes are now being eliminated and produced in stonewash. I personally like the stonewash much more than the satin. Glad you ordered the stonewash. The picture above speaks for itself. You had originally posted a satin blade and the reason I asked about the finish and the other one above is the stonewash finish.

Can't go wrong with any of them. Just rotate them for variety.
 
That's a great knife. I don't have one in that color but it's sweet. If it's your first wave knife, you should like it. I love it!
 
Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that I received the knife today! I am VERY impressed with how fast and smooth the deployment is.

The blade is absolutely beautiful with the stonewashed finish on it, also its remarkably sharp out of the box! Another feature that stood out for me on this model is the g10 handles with how much grip they provide. The knife sticks to my hand like glue!

Overall Im impressed with Emerson knives. I will definitely be purchasing another soon in the future.
