I have been waiting to get my first Fiddleback for a while and am super excited. I ordered a Bushboot. I've included the picture of the one I got (its off the website)

Please post some pictures of your Bushboots to hold me over until it gets here! In action pictures would be great.

Hey Swat, that is a sweet looking Bushboot. I'm a big fan of the maroon linen micarta, yet somehow I have yet to pick one up. I guess I have a weak spot for the exotic woods. This pic may just be the push I needed to give one a closer look the next time.....let's say a hiking buddy shows up wearing maroon.
Welcome and thanks for posting.

Hey swat pup, Awesome looking knife you picked!

I know how the excitement feels!! My first fiddleback just arrive today. Its a Hunter natural canvas on natural canvas... I'm trying to post pics but not sure how yet. I'll keep trying

I'm glad you decided to go for that knife. Its a sweet one.

THANKS guys!

The combination of the maroon with the white and natural liners looks amazing. I'm sure Mr. Roy would make one up for you with maroon micarta if you asked :D

Once this one comes I feel it is going to lead to a long line of purchases of Mr. Roy's knives. Glad you like the Hunter, that's another model I was looking at along with a Lady Finger, Hiking Buddy, and Bushcrafter. This is not going to be good for my checking account. And to post pictures you have to upload them to a photobucket account and link them to your post.

I think my next fiddleback will be a convex burlap bushboot. Hopefully one shows up soon.

Let us know what you think of yours once you get it.

That's a gorgeous BushBoot - and I love the swedge; not to mention the scales/liner combo. The mosaic pin is a nice finishing touch!

Beautiful knife! I think fiddlebacks have the most gorgeous, and from what i hear the most comfortable, handles on the market and the overall designs are just simple and perfect. I cant wait until i can get a hold of one... just gotta find a better dang job first:grumpy: maybe i should offer to come over and clean the shop for a few months or something since he's just down the way:D

I couldn't agree more with all of you . From what I have read and seen on-line Mr. Roy puts out some amazing work. My Bush Boot is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I'll get some more pictures and initial thoughts up once I have it.

If this is your first, I'd be very surprised if it is your last... I discovered Andy's knives in the spring and have several already - I find his handles to be more comfortable than most of the other knives in my collection and the craftsmanship is top notch. Add in the artistry of his materials - and they are hard to beat! Makes me wish my bushboot had a swedge :)

Thanks for these posts guys. I appreciate your support!

You don't happen to remember what steel you used for the BushBoot do you? I am assuming O1. It wasn't listed on the website where I got it and I called them an they didn't have anything in their computer system saying what it was.

I happen to have one of Andy's Bushboots in my hand as I type...and have to say it a fabulous knife. Very comfortable in the hand and makes a great EDC. What a great first Fiddleback to start with.

Next, a Bushcraft Karda....

Because you can see spalting on the flats between the main grind and swedge you can be sure it is 01.

She just got here. This knife is amazing. It is a little tank with the blade being 3/16. I have several other knives with blades around this length and the handles are just to small. This has great proportions, it is comfortable, I can get a full grip on it. I keep running my finger over the where the pins and liners meet the handle and it is so smooth it feels like it could be one piece of material. The grinds on the blade are perfect, as far as I can tell, and it is darn sharp ( yes that is a technical term). Mr. Roy you have more than convinced me and the next time I have enough cash to spend, it is coming your way. Here are some pictures.
