After learning about the GEC brand in this very forum, I took the plunge today to see what all the hubbub is about. I've a Great Eastern Tidioute Single Blade Scout in Tractor Green Bone on the way, and I'm excited about it :D

Previous experience with traditional folders amounts to a bunch of Case knives, so I'm interested to be able to compare.

Pics to follow as soon as it arrives.

Grats, I really enjoy my GECs. They are very fine knives and sparked my interest in traditionals. I currently EDC a scagel produced by them. Look forward to your pics

the scouts are great heavy duty performers, perhaps the best all around user in the line. these are very stong knives & may i suggest you take yours outside & rinse the knife with alcohol or wd40 to remove debris from manufacturing processes, then i relube the knife with remoil or something similar. many of these came dull as a brick so i suggest you enlist the aid of diamond sharpening products.--dennis

Congratulations on your new knife. I have a couple of GEC's and really like them, I am sure you will like your knife as well.

Something tells me you're gonna like it.

I have my first GEC Scout on the way. (Primitive Bone) It should arrive today.

Looking forward to your pics. I've always liked the looks of the Tractor Green but I don't own one yet.

Congrats!

I too suspect you're going to really like it and be well pleased with its high quality. They're very addictive. I only discovered GEC about a month ago but it's fast becoming my most favorite knife manufacturer.

Dennis -Thank you for the great tips on breaking in the knife. It's always the little details like that which can take pride of ownership to the next level. Really looking forward to putting that scout to work.

Thanks for the encouragement, gents.

GEC tends to have better QC then Case but I still strongly perfer Case. With that said I own one GEC and its a great knife but I find it more collectible then use able. Just MHO. Congrats and I look forward to the photos.
