I ordered my first HI this morning. I got a Chiruwa Ang Khola with the wood handle made by Sgt. Khadka. Yangdu was very nice and a pleasure to deal with both in emails and over the phone her customer service is excellent. I am really looking forward to recieving this excellent blade. Although my Bk&T kukri might get jelious when the HI gets here. I will post pics and my opinions of the blade when I recieve it.

I'm pleased to see that the history books were wrong, and that you did indeed survive the Alamo. Congrats on your first HI. The CAK is a beast. You won't be disappointed. So what do you think of the Kamis' various interpretations of your famous knife design? Also, can I have an autograph?

Rat.......:o
Mind yer manners, son.
You've been in the corn likker agin'....:(
How do you know his first name isnt David?;)

Anyways...WELCOME!!!
Whichever MR. BOWIE you happen to be.

I hadn't thought of that, Karda. Excellent point. As for the question about Corn Likker...I don't talk about sacred subjects on teh interwebz.;)

LOL ok I will explain my user name I use that because all my friends call me that do to the fact that I carry really big knives and am trained to use them so they like to pick fun at me and call me Bowie. My real name is John.

Hi Mr. Bowie, I ordered the exact same knife a few days ago. I will contact you when my knife arrives and we can compare pics.

You got it buddy. I'll be happy to report back how it works doing regular ranch stuff, but I dont plan on putting it through any test that would be considered abusive, I want it to last a very long time. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of work you use your AK for. And by the way my name is John too.

Ahhh, I remember my first H.I. knife (an Ang Khola). Definitely NOT my last. You HIKV has started Mr. Bowie - you will buy more.

You are probbly right about it not being my last I love large knives. And as far as its regular use it will probably end up being my new hiking and camp knife it would really have to impress me to become my EDC and take that place from my Custom Made Dozier Fighter which is almost 14 inches in total length, but I love the Dozier because it moves so naturally when doing all my practice drills but the Chiruwa Ang Khola could suprise me when I put it through a couple different practice drills although I bought it to have a tough chopper but it could become my EDC I will have to see how it handles and performs.

Welcome Mr Bowie and Jetblack! If you like really big knives, especially Bowies, hang around here. HI has an Ang Khola Bowie and a Giant Chitlangi Bowie that you will love. And lest I forget, The Bura Bowie!

ok where do I find those are they on their website

Nope. The website hasn't been updated in several years. HI still sells most of the models on the website, and new models show up in the DOTD's sometimes, like today's Classic Bowie. You can also email Yangdu (HIMIMP@aol.com) and ask if she has any laying around. Another option, though it takes a little while, is to ask her to have the Kamis make what you want.

Im already looking for my next HI knife, and my first one is still in transit.
