Well, took me long enough, but I finally decided to order the Calypso, Jr. as my first Spyderco. Can't wait for it to arrive!!

you poor soul. i remember my first spyderco, it was a SS rookie. then i remember my second spyderco, CF delica...then there was the third, it was a G10 standard. or was the fourth, well it could have even been the fifth. at some point an endura showed up, it brought a friend called cricket. the dragonfly flew in from somewhere...oh lord where did all these spyders come from???

The Jr is a super knife, a pure cutting tool, I don't have a better slicer.
With this selection, you prove to have good judgment, so this will not be your last Spyderco.
Good luck!

I while back I wanted to start carrying a pocket knife again, but I wanted it to be a good quality knife, not some crappy POS like I had before. I started searching, and I almost wish that now I just had some person give me a knife, tell me it was good, and I could trust them. That would save me countless hours of reading up on knives and a ton of money.

The Calypso Jr. would be that knife that if I were to just give a knife to a friend and say "trust me, this one is good", so they would not have to fall into the deep hole I've dug myself into. I love the Calypso Jr. and I can't wait for the ZDP run in a few months!

Good choice! :)

The chances of this being your last Spydie are probably slim and none.. :D

I've got one sitting in my pocket right now. By far the sharpest knife I've ever owned. Don't hurt yourself with it!

Thanks...I'm sure it won't be my last...I was contemplating for a couple of months what to start with...and I'd played around with a Delica my friend has a few times. I just ended up liking the looks of the Calypso better. Should be here by tomorrow....I hope!

Congrats. I'm sure you'll like it. For some reason, I have yet to order a Calypso myself.

BDNX, I don't think that you could have started off with a better Spydie than the Calypso Jr..

Unfortunately, whether you realize it or not, you have just embarked on a journey that knows no end. Once the

Good Choice. Welcome to the world of the Spyderco Knife. It leads to others. Fair warning.

After much hassling with UPS...my Calypso managed to make it here yesterday. I'm happy with it so far...still haven't really put it to use yet, but I've definitely been playin' around with it.

Desire to collect Spyderco knives has got to be one of the most addictive things that can afflict a human being. I started with the Harpy (duh) and haven't stopped since.

Like as not, I won't either.

Welcome to your new addiction, my friend. :D Don't say you weren't warned...

Unfortunately true. I just TRIED to limit myself to a few factory knives to work on collecting customs more. I've gotten 3 Spidies since then. :D

I used to think Spyderco Knives were UGLY! Then, one day somebody "threw in" an old, used Spyderco Worker in with a trade deal. I carried it around the house for a while and fell in love with it based entirely on it's ergonomics and utility. Then there was no turning back.
