I called in my order for a TGLB today. Competition finish with black canvas handles. I asked this in the Walking Dead thread but nobody had any input. What kind of sheath does Daryl use for his TG? I don't mean brand or anything, just the style. Is it drop leg, low-ride, etc? The handle strap seems to sit very near the top of the handle as well. Sorry if this seems obvious, I'm new to larger fixed blades. I've never had to consider sheath carry options before.
 
Congrats on the order. I really don't know about the sheath. I have never really paid much attention to it.

Sorry no info on the sheath but there are a couple of sheath Guru's around here that could hook you up a treat.

Appears to be a dangled by how low it rides. I don't watch the show but just going by pictures that would be my guess. If he would tuck his shirt in it would help a lot.
 
First, WELCOME! You made an excellent first choice. I have a TGLB and it's one of my favorite knives.

Second, to answer your question, i have no idea who makes it, but his sheath appears to be a simple thin leather sheath. Plenty of the makers here could make you something similar

Chuck (Chuddy Bear) made mine. It's not really all that similar to the one used by Daryl, but you might ask a few of the leatherworkers here. I'm sure one of them can hook you up

It's definitely a dangled. It may be a amoral but the strap is up to high for standard. Think it's just a prop shop job. The guard is exposed when sheathed. Just call one of the leather guys and see what they can do.
 
Good to see you pulled the trigger on that order jdj211, the TGLB is one badass blade. Make sure you post up some pics and let us know what you think once it arrives. Check out Rainwalker or Armorall Leather for top quality sheaths.

The sheath is 'home made', appears to be laced not stitched, and quite thin leather, bends and flops without the knife in it.
 
The sheath is actually just a POS bowie sheath from overseas. If you want a quality sheath in a similar style, contact Leatherman over at Armorall leather.
 
Cool! :) I think with Feezle's hard work we have the closest to the show's sheath without the overly thin leather and I dont do lacing so that is out as well, but its pretty darn close. :D

The first three are off the machine and the next three or four are in the works, I love the knife and the sheath design, its been a hoot! Just wish I coulda been there when the show was looking for leather.
