Not too long ago, I ordered my first personal Kershaw from Mr. Dave here on the forums.
I have ordered Kershaw knives from him before as gifts to friends, and was so impressed that I had to get one for myself!
The Shallot is an amazing knife in my opinion, and paying less than $50 for a blem that has no noticeable imperfection was well worth the price!

Now I've been looking at the Zero tolerance 0400 for a while, not only because I think it's a good looking knife, but also because it seems to be less talked about than the 0300, 0350, and the 0200 knives, which seem to be the go to knife if getting a Zero Tolerance.

After weeks of saving my pennies and collecting loose change on the ground, and doing the odd job when I can, I've finally been able to place my order for a ZT 0400 this morning!
It's estimated to arrive before the week is over, and I cannot wait until it gets to me!

I've been bitten by this Kershaw/ZT bug pretty hard, I just hope it doesn't take over my life and turn me into "the creepy knife guy"

Congratulations. While I'm not a fan of the blade profile of the 0400 I'd love to hear what you think of it when it arrives. Woudn't be the first time I've been swayed to try something a little different.

you will probably be stoked ;)

i didnt think it would be when i bought it, but its my most carried hard use edc. lighter and thinner than the 350,200,and 300. got rid of the rest cause the size of the others are too large for me. at this point even for urban carry id rather carry a 3 inch fixed blade tank, than a zt300.

i just wish it(zt400) had titanium handles instead of aluminum. id pay extra money for a sprint run with titanium and maybe a more premium steel. s30v is good but id prefer something just as stainless but more razor edge holding. seems to lose its razor edge quick and keep that famous s30v 'working edge' for a long time. but thats a whole nother discussion.

the rubber traction on one side is perfect, the clip side is smooth so theres minimal pocket wear. also i should mention the rubber looks to be mint still. i thought it would get all gouged up by now. that trac-tec crap is genius

i should mention i had rounded off the tanto tip and reprofiled the edge, so the blade shape is more of a recurve belly with a thinner blade. the thick area right above the chisel edge really affects slicing.now it looks to be between a shallot and a spec bump blade shape. made the knife a whole lot better.

The ZT0400 is my favorite one so far. It's a big knife, same size as the 0200 & 0300, but the handle is more comfortable than the 0300 or 0350. I just received a 0350ZDP yesterday, and it feels too small in the hand. The 0200 and 0400 definitely feel better, since your hand closes a lot better over the handle.

A lot of people don't like the blade shape of the 0400, but I like it a lot. It's among my more challenging ones to sharpen, but it stays sharp for a long time. Don't know how successful you'll be at reprofiling the blade, not much room to move. One thing I'm thinking of doing though, is swapping ithe blade out into the 0200 handle to see how/if it fits. The 3D G10 of the 0200 is better to hold, although they have just about the same shape as the 0400's flat aluminum scales.

It's hard to go wrong with a ZT regardless of what model it is. My ZT200 as served me quite well.

Knife came in today!
