I just ordered some 1084 from Aldo and can't wait or I guess I'll have to. But I got some 1/4" x 1 1/4" and some 3/16 x 1" stuff. Also got some satinite. I have benn using leaf springs and even though it will make a tuff blade it will be nice to use some stuff thats closer to the width and thickness I need.

Fresh clean 1084 is a big step up from old leaf springs. I think you'll be pleased, Aldo's stuff makes a tough, durable blade and can hold a fine sharp edge surprisingly well

Aldo, I just got the steel today and man thats some clean stuff. It beats the livin daylights out of that leaf spring junk ive been using.
Soon as I get some fuel in my tank I can't wait to get goin on it. Thanks, Marlin

It doesn't surprise me James!

For the sake of clarity, I'm comparing the durability of thin edges made of Aldo's 1084 at 58 Rc to CPM-154 at 58-60 Rc. My CPM-154 blades definitely stay sharp longer, but not by as wide a margin as I would have thought before comparing them.

I do like high-alloy steels very much. However, I've said it before and I'll say it again, if Aldo's 1084 was the only steel I could get, I wouldn't lose a moment's sleep. It's really good stuff.

Aldo's 1084 beats the 1095 I got from someone else, lots less pitting, lots less surface grinding req'd. Good stuff.

Keep up the good work Aldo
