Enable or justify my decision. I'm waiting on another pre-order. Folks talk about this being an expensive paramilitary 2. Yet for what you get....and secondary sales. I think it's decent. I've been wanting one. Trying to justify buying one for a while. I had an S30V model. Loved it. Sent it back though because the compression lock was horribly sticky. The blade was ground terribly uneven. And fit and finish were off. Dealer agreed! I know that was few and far between though! I'm not mad. I did love it though. Must be knife fate? For the blue is my grail PM2. Thoughts? Opinions on the sprint run PM2's? Are they somewhat better made than the regular production runs? Thanks! Reviews and pics would help y'all! Merry Christmas and Happy New Knife Year!

I've got 2- but they're my only PM2s. I don't know if it's because of being a special run or not, but both are perfect as far as I can tell. To be honest, I couldn't care less about the scales, but wanted the M390. I also thought the price would be justified by the limited run- but "oh,well" on that, huh?

I have two of the second run of the blue M390 Paramilitary 2. For what it's worth, both had perfect fit and finish. Silky smooth action, perfectly even grinds and no stickiness on the lock. I think you'll like it.

Just as some feedback, I recently bought a BM 755 MPR with M390 steel, and man do I love that blade. I don't sharpen my own "good knives", afraid I'll screw up the edge, but so far I've been cutting up Christmas packages (a great thing about the holidays - lots of boxes to cut), and that M390 cuts through them like butter. Not a Spydie, but the metal's the same, and it has held an edge really well. I have blades in ZDP 189, VG 10, and the other "super steels", and M390 stacks up, in my opinion, with the best of them.

even though BB are cheesball's IMO... it is still worth every penny. Its an amazing PM2 and no justification is needed given the price point.

I became a fast fan of M390 with the Spyderco Mule. What surprised me was that it seemed very easy to sharpen. My mule never really got super dull, but I was able to get it back to shaving sharp with minimal effort. And this is from a guy who will gladly admit sucks at sharpening. A total Newb. So if I had to pick a super steel for newbs, M390 would be hard to beat.

For me, the Para 2 is about the best combo of 1) a utilitarian EDC knife, plus 2) a last ditch, OMG save my life blade. Some knives may be better for EDC or self defense, but its hard to find that good middle ground where a knife is small and nimble enough for opening boxes and peeling apples, but still big enough and fast enough for altering someone's behavior. I think the Para 2 fits in there just right. I think I have 3 or 4 of them, and just bought another (pre-owned black/black with black hardware), and have a dark green CTS-204P dealer exclusive on pre-order, but given that Para 2 production seems to be at a standstill I wouldn't be surprised not to see it at all in 2013.

Reviews and pics would help y'all!

I sold mine to my partner..he likes knives and uses his blue pm2 everyday.he is hard on his knife..

I asked to see it a while back.. It was dull as a butter knife.. I took it home and sharpened it for him. I was amazed how easily I got a hair shaving edge back on it. So I ordered two.. I immediately sent one to STR for a low rider clip. ( sold the other one )

The only knock I have on PM2's is the clip. That's just a personal thing, due to my riding a Harley. I hate knives showing, and jabbing me while I ride.. I ride with a gang of guys that don't need any more reasons to interact with LEO's.

The PM2 is an awesome knife, and that M390 is great steel.

Someday.. I going to take a picture of my partners knife and post it.. It might be the hardest used blue PM2 on the planet.:)

I love my s35vn para 2, the fit and finish is pretty good for a production knife at this price point. I have no complaints except for that I wish I would have gotten a blue one! They are really great slicers, and though I don't own any blades in M390 from what I have read it is a pretty aggressive cutting steel. now when I hold beefier knives, like my strider SnG. I just compare them to the slicing ability of my para D: Looks like it is time for a tom krein ffg regrind!

It could just be a user error, but I keep bending the clip on my para 2, it just seems to get caught on things at work a lot. You could always get an STR ti low rider clip for yours!

Nice! What do the clips run usually? You have to send the PM2 for them to redrill?

The Blue M390's are not a Sprint, but a store exclusive. They don't make the sprints/exclusives any better than the regular production, but you can order one in the color, or steel that you choose. As others have said M390 is a great steel.

They fit the existing holes.

I ordered one this morning also...I just checked the site this evening and they are showing "Out of Stock" again, so it looks like I ordered just in time. I recently bought a Sage 3 in Blue G10 and just love the color, so I am really excited to receive the Para2 in blue.

Para2 is a truly great knife...M390 is a truly great steel...the coarse texture blue G10 is great...I'd give you

Being new in these parts I'm not sure I understand the distinction between a Sprint and a store exclusive. Does this mean in this case BB could keep putting in orders with Spyderco and continue offering this particular knife indefinitely? Provided Spyderco agrees, of course. Where as a Sprint run is limited to fixed number of knives?
