Just ordered the oso sweet

Couldn't decide between the oso and the skyline.. Took a chance on the oso
Both nice knives, but I would have chosen the Skyline.

Better blade steel. 14C28N
Better handle. G-10
Made in the USA!!!!

The Oso does have speedsafe and is cheaper.

Well I maybe getting the skyline too than.. I've seen pics of a black and tan model. Where can I get that? The Damascus skyline looks pretty ba aswell.

I've never handled an OSO but I've been wanting to get one and see how I like it. There just always seems to be something else I want to get a little more and try. The blade shape and all is really appealing though.

The Skyline is a really nice knife to pick up and for the price is an awesome deal. It is a very smooth opening, light, and tough knife. I traded mine off for something I wanted a little more and fully intend to get one back because I miss having it around.

In short, I have yet to have a Kershaw that wasnt, in my opinion, a quality knife. I did have a few that didnt appeal to me but even those felt and carried like good working quality. My only real problems with them are some of the funky clips and their blade finish but thats another topic for another thread.

I bought one yesterday and I'm impressed: can't find any faults with the fit and finish and the speedsafe deploys the blade with a satisfying "thwik", though not quite the "thwack" that my Mini Cyclone produces.

You're no doubt familiar with the Spyderco Delica 4? I know they're not in the same price bracket but if I can compare it to that knife the Oso is a bit shorter in overall length but has more usable blade to it. It's a bit lighter than the Delica but with its full stainless steel liners it feels just as solid. The liner engages in the correct 1/3 position on the tang so it looks like there's some room for wear. Lock up on mine is 100%, no play at all.

Whilst I'm pleased that I got the new version of the Oso with 8Cr13MoV steel as opposed to AUS6 that the older ones had I'm a bit bummed that they changed the blade shape - the older models having an almost full flat grind, and this new one a slight hollow grind that runs about 3/4 up the width of the blade.

I didn't really need another knife (like any of us here do!) but I felt like treating myself and it was either this or a CRKT M21. I handled both and the M21 just isn't as elegant as this little guy and the LAWKS safety felt fiddly to me. I've never carried my Mini Cyclone (the only other Kershaw I own), so I'm a bit nervous about this thing deploying itself in my pocket but I guess if that was happening all the time we'd hear about it.

My new Oso is going to be a user. It wasn't that cheap here in South Africa but at R420 ($60US) it's not tooo bad either. ( Just to give you an idea the same shop was selling the Tenacious at R750 - that's just over one hundred dollars. Ridiculous!) Anyway I'm rambling here..

Let us know what you think when you get yours SOOG.

Thanks for the info.. It should be showing up next week.. My manix 2 came in today and I can't wait to get home to check it
Out

I've got one of the older Oso's with the AUS 6, and it's a great little knife for what I paid for it, very happy with mine.
