I have just ordered a 15" sirupati and cannot wait for it to arrive. When ordering I noticed that you were based out of Virginia. Since I live in Virginia I was wondering if you have a location open to the public. Because I would greatly like to see your stock first-hand.

Bandit: Only 8 posts, and already a sirupati! I am honored. No, I actually don't have a place open to the public. You can, however see the SN1 and the Brass WW at Chesapeake Knife and Tool.

Enjoy your Sirupati. It'll ship on Monday.

Question: How did you decide on the sirupati?

The reason I chose the Sirupati is because It is a bit closer to the katana than the rest. I have studied Aikido for many years and have had a bit of trouble finding much info on traditional Khukuri fighting. I am hoping to use techniques that I have been practicing in Kali and Kenjuitsu and convert them to use with the khukuri. This knife will hopefully be the first of many I will purchase. I cannot wait for my new knife.

Bandit you said you, "(H)ave had a bit of trouble finding much info on traditional Khukuri fighting." Soldier of Fortune, 10/98, p. 42 states, "Nowadays the kukri (sic) sustem seldom is seen outside the far-flung enclaves of present and former Gurkha soldiers and the thousands of retirees residing in Nepal and India. Here in the States, the only known civilian group that maintains the authentic short-sword system is the American Bando Association, Inc. (P.O. Box 2763, Atlanta, GA 30301)." I could not find a NET homepage for the American Bando Association. The SOF article adressed traditional khukuri fighting. For example they stack one to two foot pieces of firewood on top of each other to form a pile about six foot tall and whack the top piece, replace, etc.

Take care,

bug
