Well, haven't posted the opening pics from my 1st Becker and already have paid for a 9.

The nine wasn't on my shirt list, or long list, or any list actually but I had the opportunity to get one and it definitely feels like I need one just for Becker collection purposes.

It seems like a requirement to own both a 9 and 2, so now I do ;)

Now maybe I can get back to working On Ownership of a 14 with Orange Zytel scales and tek-lock AND a KA-BAR Kukri Machete.

Those two have been on my shortlist for awhile, before the 2 I got and now I'ma have 3 Beckers.

It just happens to you :)

Also, I think I've figured out two and ten syndrome.

When I laid eyes upon the two it seems like something you use hard and then get the feeling it's too short and too heavy so you get something longer and thinner, the 9 is the next logical choice.

I've already got a 9 incher, but I can't wait see what the 9 holds in store for me.

Awe man, you went to the dark side. The 9er's are fanatics.

Congratz on the 9. I hope to get one some day, but its a long way off.

Get that 14!!!

Congrats!!!

I started my Becker collection last week with the 16 and now I'm trying to decide on my 2nd - it really does seem like they just happen to you.

The 9 is a must have. A couple of my good friends and I just got back from taking a group of Jr High / High School guys camping and rock climbing and the 9 was the belle of the ball. Everyone wanted to learn to baton firewood and start it up with the hot coals and fresh kindling.

The 9 is a great blade because its a large knife with finesse... I say this because a lot of production 9 inchers are a lot of brute force with no finesse, not to say the 9 is not a little brute force itself... Its 3/16ths stock which seems to be about the magic number for 1095 and 1095cv in a balance of strength and lightness. The 9 is also ground correctly so you take the 3/16ths down to a slicey edge that will slice, feather stick, carve etc etc while still being stable enough to handle hard use tasks. The 9 has a fairly large sweet spot too and the grind/geometry lends itself to be a very effective chopper... it bites deep without getting bound up easy... and the clipped/swedged point also aids in tip penetration and allowing material to easily shed off the end... its a 9 inch knife that can handle like a 5... and all this goodness is built the great foundation which is Ethan's handles... ergonomic and comfortable they just work sssooo well... I am not a fanboy, I am a user, but I am a big fan of using the BK9 :D

I really could go on and on about how great the BK9 is, but everyone knows this once they sink it into something for the first time.

and Becker threads have to have pictures! ;)

Nice threads Iwould, we'll see how it compares with my Kabar Heavy Bowie when I get it in and bask in some of the newness off of it.

I'd like to think it'll handle like a 5", that seems to be my preferred range.

Though I still wanna drop down tothat 14 for belt carry.

You can't not have a BK9. No, seriously. It's just something that should never be done.
