I think I was trying to poo poo on it because as you progress with knives you're supposed to go up in price and steels right?

In this case design upstages premium materials it cuts really well and is going to be my garden knife. Just gotta figure out how to sharpen a chisel grind blade on the sharpmaker.

Hold it at an angle instead of vertical...I do the same sharpening my SE Dragonfly because if you hold it vertical the stones don't hit the edge (They hit the top edge of the bevel on the grind side). I still do 3 swipes to one on the ground side versus the back side, but holding the knife at roughly a 15 degree angle towards the back side seems to work well for me.
