I received my Salsa today and just wanted to say how much I like this stubby little knife. I've got several spydies, (native PE, a couple of delicas, endura FS), and was impressed with the solid feel of the Salsa for its size. The full flat grind is amazing, and I'm looking forward to doing some work with this knife to see how it performs. The compression lock is rock solid, and amazingly easy to use left-handed. Though the blade has a flat spot on it from contact with the lanyard hole barrel thingy, I managed to flatten out the barrel on that side when I had it out while changing the clip, so hopefully no more contact will be made. Though many have complained about the stiffness of the clip, I enjoy knowing that I will not lose the knife thanks to a lazy clip (it's happened to me before). I would love to see this knife in an even better steel (though AUS8 does the job nicely), and before you suggest the Ti Salsa, I must point out its exposed framelock would be 'iffy' to use left handed. I don't think the clip is reversible either (could be wrong about that).

But other than that minor quibble....
Good job Spyderco!

I agree that the salsa is top notch especially for it's size. I intend to pick one up sometime soon. I'm sure you'll dig giving this one some pocket time.

No reversable clip on the Ti model, and I love this little knife! Comfy and sharp, a first class cutting tool.

really? theres no reversible clip on the ti version? and it's doesn't have the compression lock? what kinda lock does it have?

It has a compression lock, but it is an integral compression lock somehow made out of part of the handle. like the diffrence between a liner lock and a frame lock i think if i udnerstand it right.
