Was at Lowe's picking up a couple of filters at noon and picked up a Sod Buster , Jr. for $20.65. Gotta say the fit and finish is terrible. Not like the one I lost in Cambodia 21 years ago. Gap the entire length of one liner. Both liners proud for the length of slabs backsides. Back spring flush when open but indented above pivot pin when closed. Center pin proud on both sides. Opening is gritty a tough. Blade not even close to center. At least lock up is tight with no blade play.

Wishin' I still had my 20 bucks or another SAK.

Man, that sucks. That's why I try to avoid blister packs. You could try sending it back to Case.

I have picked up a couple there myself. Mine were all very gritty. Soap and water, thorough drying and some mineral oil - and they were all fine(nothing you don't already know). Mine are centered and nothing too proud. I inspected them as best as I could in the clam shell. Just curious, are you sure there is a gap? All mine look that way at first due to the( I'm guessing) stamped parts. With parts that are stamped too close to finish size you end up with one edge that is rounded.

Yeah, it's a gap. Just shocked at how poor Case's QC has to be these days for this knife to get through.

Yeah... blister packs annoy me! I mean, nothing beats a little box that one can open, inspect, and put right back in, if something ain't right at the store. I just picked up two SAKs, and got a decent deal because the two knives were now being sold off of a peg board in blister packs, and my specimens were in boxes. What they did not realize, is that I would have paid a few more bucks for the boxed specimens, them allowing a good inspection. I not only like the idea of a box for that reason, but also for storage of those boxes... those blister packs are a pain, and they get ugly with age

I've had QC problems on my full size soddies. Much like the ones you described on your jr.
