I have seen some posts where people had Sebenza 25's with a birthdate of 1/29 so I took a chance and contacted Knives Ship Free since they were showing they had some in stock. At first I was told they just got some in with a 2/28 date but I wasn't interested and told Greg if he came across a 1/29 dated one later I would take it since that was my birthdate. A little while later I get another email from him saying since it was my birthdate he checked his stock and found one dated 1/29 and was holding it for me. Needless to say I wasted no time placing the order for it.

I already have a Sebenza 25 and like it real well but to get one that was born on my birthday, it doesn't get much better than that!

Thanks Greg and Knives Ship Free!

Greg is awesome. I have purchased at least to Chris Reeves Knives from him. He is a good dude!!

Great! I mentioned earlier the local store to me had 4 more in stock born on your bday, glad you found one. That is pretty awesome.

I have one 1/27. Agreed he is a good dude!

Thanks Justin, I did see that but figured it would be easier for one of these internet stores to process it. I wish there was someplace around me that sold CRK's. No...Wait...What am I saying...I would never have any money if that was the case!

Yeah, I agree Greg seems to be a great guy. After I placed the order I sent him an email with the order number and he said he was on his way to put it in the mail. Wasn't long after that I got the tracking number. Doesn't get much better than that!

I know where my first stop for a new knife will be in the future. Not that I plan on buying another CRK because I swear, this will be my last one. :D

Liar, liar; pants on fire. :)

I randomly bought a large micarta Sebbie a week or two ago and it showed up with the birthdate of 2/11/14. That was the date of my 40th birthday. How random and awesome is that!

That will NEVER be sold!

I will join the chorus praising KSF. Great folks, great dealer.

If I can get up the nerve to drop that kind of coinage, I'll buy either a 21 or 25 from KSF next week. Trying to decide which one is half the fun.

Very cool Steve!! I know you have been wanting one with your Birthday on the Card.. but I didn't know CRK was around that long ago!!
All the best brother!!

It arrived today just as promised, can't beat that! Here are just a couple of pictures because everyone has seen a new Sebenza 25 before.

As I said earlier what makes this one so special to me, it was made on my birthday! No Dave, they didn't make CRK's back in "our" day so all I can hope for is to get one made on my birthday which this one was.

One interesting observation... I have a Sebenza 25 I purchased with a birthdate of 11/27/13 and it has scales dated B13. This new Sebenza 25 born on 1/29/14 also has scales made on B13.

As always awesome thread Steve!! And your usual fantastic photos!! Thanks for the great information on the code date!! We will add that to the ever growing data base on the Latest and Greatest Chris Reeve Knife!! I am not at all surprised with the date. This is speculation on my part of course but due to the very low production numbers on the early 25 (if I recall off the top of my very flat head) all the 25's produced in the first few months of 2013 had A 12 code dates. The next code date observed was the A 13 but not until May of 2013 when they stopped using the press fit stop pin. So, the only code dates used to my knowledge so far are A 12, A 13 and B 13. If anyone has more accurate information please let us know. (there were also early knives made with no code date) perhaps one of the lucky members here who own one of the 25 Prototypes can tell us if they had a code date.
Again, congratulations my friend!! Very nice belated birthday gift!!
All the best, Dave

Thanks Dave and thanks for sharing the information you have gathered on the 25. I for one find it very interesting as well as what you have shared about the Zaan. You are truly an asset to our affection for these knives.

Ah shucks.. :o thanks again for the kind words Steve!! Update.. thanks to one of our esteemed members here on the forum I can report that the 25 Prototypes and at least one of the first 29 production models do not have code dates on the handles!!

Very cool... KSF is great to deal with. I've never dealt with Greg, but Derrick is a standup guy

What a great story to go along with a great knife. Congratulations. You gave me an idea to drop a huge hint to my wife about what she could get me for my birthday. It isn't till mid July so she has time to put out the word to Greg to keep I eye out for that particular date. Odds are small to find one with the correct date but it might happen, she likes these little challenges. And even if it didn't work out, it would be a great excuse for getting me my second CRK! Thanks again for starting a cool thread.

Hey guys! Always good to hear. Greg is really a great guy. I can't think of anyone I would rather have doing our customer service. He is a blade head through and through, so he understands us well!
