Just polished my umnumzaan

Hey guys. I just received this umnumzaan a couple days ago. It was pretty scratched up when I received it, but it traded for it specifically to carry so I figured the scratches wasn't a big deal. I was bored this morning so I thought I would polished/brush it. Being this is a carry knife I really wasn't concerned about hurting the value. Now that I'm done I'm reconsidering carrying it and making it a safe queen, but I guess if I scratch it I can always just repolish it. Lol. Btw...this is the more uncommon version with the large pivot and the lockbar stop.

He she is. Let me know ur thoughts good or bad....
 
...polished the corners and edges and brushed the flats. I left the milling on the sides the factory finish for some contrast...
 
I really like it a lot. Nice work.

Isn't the hinderer style stop on the back supposed to have the CRK logo on it? Or were the older ones plain like that?

Was it hand polished/brushed? If so, what materials did you use?

And put her some clothes (o-rings) on, haha! Can't have her going around naked, you know!!! :p ;)
 
It actually didn't have o rings when I received it. Looked like it had a pretty rough life..

Brushed flats with 320 grit and polished edges with 400 wet sand. All by hand

Well, it looks like she's in good hands now!

Don't be afraid to enjoy that beauty....... that's what she was made for.

Looks really good! I polished one of my Sebenzas a while ago. The Zaan looks great all shined up. I've handled a few while in the prep stage of anodizing them. I liked that the grooves in the scales lets you retain a good grip, even when they are polished. Nice job!

That looks fantastic, I think CRK should offer that as an option. Nice job!
 
The satin finish does look nice :):thumbup:....for a moment there I thought I was about to see a mirror polish, thankfully not. :p
 
Looks good man. Don't lock that thing away, use it.

Just picked up a lefty 'Zaan tanto and love it.
