Just purchased a Nyala!!

I have never held one but, it will definitely be the next CR I purchase. Their is something about the design and size that makes this knife appealing.

I purchased a Nyala from another forum member a few months back and really like it. It came razor sharp, has, what I think is a very solid and utilitarian design. A while back, I remember another forum member wishing for a large fixed blade Sebenza and someone else replied that it was the Nyala - makes sense to me. Plus it is made from CPM-S35VN which seems to be a pretty decent steel. I'll admit, I'm a light weight user but if I were to really do some hard, bare handed labor with this knife, I think I might want to smooth some of the handle groove edges a bit. They are a bit sharp. It would take me about half an hour to take a usable picture and it would be no better than what you have posted so I'll let it stand. Mike

I bought one when they first became available. I have quite a few fixed blades that about the same size. Depending on what I an doing I will carry the one I think serves me best or a Sebenza.

Honestly if I could carry a fixed blade everyday and I could only have one knife I would feel very well served with the Nayla. It feels better in my hand than any other knife I own. I own quite a few knives most of them quite a bit more expensive than the Nyala.

I would prefer it to be in M4, M2, or maybe CPM 3V. Other than that it is perfect and it comes with a great sheath too. I haven't had any performance issues with the S35V and it takes a good edge so maybe my steel preference is a moot desire.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Very impressive fixed blade, and just the right size for me.

I was looking for a all purpose fixed blade that was small enough to in-pocket carry if necessary and the Nyala fit the bill.

I like everything about it.

My picture taking abilities suck, but if you search Nyala on this forum you will see some great ones taken by other members.

I like the Nyala a great deal, it's defo a very nice little knife. Here is a pic of mine with another good
friend, the CRK skinner. They are quite similar knives IMO, despite their obvious differences. :D:thumbup:

This might very well be my next CRK purchase. The more I read and see this knife that more I think I "need/must" have one.

I just sent my money in for a Nyala also. Plan on using it as my primary blade for the April Woodland Ops class and a few other outings.

I have had one for a year or so, and use it as a steak knife. I love the feel & design, both, and will transition it to outdoor use now that I'm back in the US.

I can see buying another if I found one at a good price in the exchange.

I'll be picking one up soon. I've been searching for a small fixed blade with a leather sheath that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. I had no luck until I remembered a few days ago that Chris makes the Nyala.

I have no idea why I didn't think of it in the first place.

Mrs. Stainz - aka Mrs. Santa - was very good to me - I got a Nyala as a shocker of a gift for Christmas!

I have an assortment of Barkies, Bucks, Marbles, etc - this is my 'bushcraft' knife. Nice sheath, too. It has been a pocketable EDC - in cargo pants. Great edge, too. I have to wonder how CRK got all of that writing on the blade and sheath - you need an Evelyn Wood course to read it all. Okay, joke's over ... you need a magnifying glass to detect any writing!
