and also waiting on an offer for a Spyderco Chicago.

What are the average price points for these knives?

I purchased the Cat for 47.50 and trying to buy the Chicago for 44.50.
Info on both these knives and opinions would be awesome!

Both are FFG, liner lock, wire clip, and have CF scales for those who may not know.

Don't forget the S30V!
And I think those are pretty good prices for them. It's kinda weird how similar in price they are though.

The similarity in price is because they're nearly the same size and require all of the same machining to manufacture. :)

hmm Yeah so I just saw Cornerstore's prices for the knives and quite a bit cheaper although they are NOT in stock! So paying the extra bucks will guarantee my possession lol

anyhow yeah I still think their great prices considering the cricket and kiwi are vg10 and lack FFG and S30v...BTW Kiwi CF also on the way haha and cricket on the list!

Anyone own these knives??

I have a Kiwi and like it.
What is the web address for the corner store?

I don't own either knife, but recent threads over at Spyderco's forum have put the fit and finish on the Cat and Chicago a little behind previous Taiwan releases like the Sage I.

I don't know if it's the same maker in Taiwan as the Sage I, but hey it's a $50 knife so..........

EDIT: Found out it's a different maker in Taiwan.

I just looked em up. When were these released? Had to be in the last week or so. Is the slight blade length difference the only difference between these two? I'm definitely interested in reviews when yall get um up.

Yeah I didn't realize how new these knives were/are?
There is only one seller on eBay as of now with these knives and posted previously found on yourcornerstore.com but they are out of stock.

Anyhow the blade and handle are a bit shorter on the Chicago than that of the Cat, but identical otherwise I believe. Will let you all know once I get them in hand.

I believe these came out about a month ago. They quickly sold out, and apparently are just starting to ship to dealers again.

Good point to bring up. I don't know. I'm starting to get spoiled by Spyderco's higher-end knives. If I truly wanted the materials, design and steel of a Cat/Chicago, I'd probably just save up for a Sage.

Oh, I just got my first Golden, Colorado Spydie (UKPK) and man is it awesome.

There are a couple reviews by spydietalk.com on youtube about these. I'm really liking the Cat. Also I thought it was interesting that the CPMS30V is actually from Golden and is sent to the Taiwan manufacturer.
