I have just purchased a new Buck Strider 880TX and I am very pleased with it. The grip feels well in my hand (it will not slip when wet) and I like the size. The only question I have is about the chisel part of the upswept part of the Tanto blade. The point is fine whichI like and the heavyness of the blade plus length are reassuring. I bought the serrated blade because I may have to use it to cut rope or even seatbelts in an emergency carwreck. the chisel like feature on the upswept part of the blade could be used in a number of ways.
Although I bought this knife for a fighting knife (selfprotection) I now think it will be a sensational survival pocket knife rather than a fighting knife and I am impressed with its features. I came to buy this knife after bidding on a knife on EBAY, a Cold Steel Tanto with a five inch blade but the seller didn't deliver the knife as promised. I recommend buying a knife from a reputable dealer even if the price is twice as high because you can take the knife back. Also, a reputable knife dealer won't sell you a piece of junk because his sales are better with a high end quality product with customer satisfaction. Buck has an excellent warranty. I purchased a Buck folding hunter with rare Stag Horn grips and it is sharp as a razor. I am sold on buck products because of their utility and warranty.
I would appreciate comments from others.
Thanks,
Waltznjack
