A couple weeks ago I got a wild hair and was intent on purchasing a new tactical fixed blade knife. I was always impressed with the looks of Chris Reeves Pacific and was pretty set out on purchasing that blade. So I set out on checking out some You tube videos and some write ups on the knife, and I stumbled on a knife abuse video on one of the Chris Reeves knives and it did pretty bad in the abuse report, was not happy when I found that out. So I stumbled on another video of a guy showing the chopping power of a (Busse) never heard of this knife so I thought I would investigate a little further based on the praise of the the guy on the video.Well after about a week on the Busse forum and Blade forum I am the proud owner of a Busse Urban Grudge. Words can't describe how this knife feels in my hand's how solid it is and the sound of the infini steel when you brush up againts the razor sharp edge with your finger .I feel very lucky I stumbled onto the Busse combat world of knives I really almost sold myself very short indeed. I am not trying to bash Chris Reeves at all but as most of all you already know these knives are on a whole different level and the worst part is its just begun oh my.

You really should not be basing your knife purchases on what you see in those video's. I won't bring up the whole testing subject, as it is best left alone. You can search that out for yourself. Chris Reeves Knives are very nice, as is Busse, but they are totally different animals.

Besides TGHM test I personally feel S30V is not a steel for fixed blades.

You made a excellent choice, now check out swamp rat and scrap yard, also busse products aka bussekin.

In the combat world everything is torture tested from guns to scopes to knives to equipment to cloths and right fully so your life may and will depend on it some day.I am not bashing Chris Reeves knifes Im sure it will penetrate a humane chest just fine for its intended purpose. Im just saying it seems in an extreme duty situations such as prying and hard use situations the knife failed plain and simple. Now that may be due entirely do to it's steel I don't know all I know is that it did not fair very well. Bottom line you put a knife in a vise and bend it to the degree of failure and the proofs in the pudding there is no bias there. And I don't feel I have to spend three hundred dollars to destroy or torture a knife myself to figure out if a knife is worthy, not very feezable. To each his own on how they make there decision on there knives, I am just stating how I make mine and I am not asking for any bodys approval here plain and simple.

Busse makes a mean knife. It's very hard, if not impossible, to come across stuff made to the same standards (especially in toughness).

This presupposes that the fellas making these videos are better at testing knives for realistic combat scenarios than the US Military, who tested the knife and gave it a thumbs up.

But this is old history, if you find a knife you like, buy it.
