It's a pretty amazing book. The vocabulary and writing style is overly simple, I think directed towards children, but there's alot of adult themes, philosophy and politics woven in. Crazy plot, I read it all in one sitting and couldn't put the book down. I think it'd be alot of fun to read in a book club of fellow survivalists-it would spur alot of discussion chapter by chapter, and there's much potential for weaving skills challenges in there as well. I'd definitely recommend it for a light pleasure read.

I liked the book too. its the first of a trilogy. the second 2 are good not as good as the first but its worth completing the set. I just watched the trailer looks pretty good.

I agree and couldn't have put it better.

By the way, the main character in the movie is portrayed by the girl who played Mystique in the last X Men movie. She was very good and had arguably the best performance.

I have read all three, my wife was a middle school librarian so I've done a lot of book reviews for her (thought I was done with that after HS)

I would agree the first is the best but, they are all very good and an easy read.

Yeah, whoever cast that role did a perfect job. I believe she was in Winter's Bone or something like that as well. She can pull off the 'suck it up and overcome' kind of suffering that would be required for the role.
