First impression-Weapon! Fast, balanced and agile. Different than what I thought it would be. Thinner tsuka,smaller-oval tsuba and sheath not as bad as I was expecting. Overall I think I will get used to this kat rather quickly! Have a CS kat, KC ninja-to and Ontario Blackwind kat to compare it to. Much lighter than CS-which is a good cutter-spring steel and all! Similar feel to KC ninja-to, agile but longer and hopefully a better heat treat. Bent this KC laterally as well as a longitudinal bend-permanent, but this ninja-to is a swift piece of metal. Also compared to to Ontario BW, more agile and longer. I tricked out this BW kat with a hilt and a strider wrap similar to Criswell. Thought it was my best outdoor cutter/basher/kata practice weapon I may be putting it away for a while. Again, I like this sword! Full-tang is one of the things that sold me on it. Had an opportunity to handle a Barry Dawson kat and really liked it! A bit out of my price range for now so went with Criswell. One happy customer!
