I was looking for a boot knife that looks like the vintage Gerber Mark I. So I decide to buy the Cold Steel Counter-Tac 1. I must admit I'm not a big fan of chisel grind but in this case, the result is awesome. The blade seems to be really stronger than a dubble grind. It cut like a razor, I can shave my hair with. The fit and finish in georgous. The handle is very ergonomic, comfortable, non slippering and full tang. I have many expensive knives but the Counter-Tac 1 is now however one of my favorite knife ... Probably the best boot knife I have ever handeld today !!! :D:D:D

Ps : sorry fo my poor english, I come from Belgium ;)

cheers

Congratulations on your knife!

I just wanted to comment on your excellent English---your grammar, punctuation, et cetera, is much better than some of the native English speakers on BladeForums! :)

For all the abuse cold steel gets around here they make some good stuff. I just recieved a Kobun I ordered yesterday and am definitely pleased. Razor sharp, well balanced, well designed sheath, and good ergonomics all for approx. $30 delivered. I can give it a beating and not feel guilty at all at that price.

Cold Steel may be not the most popular, but a lot of their products are very good. I love my Recon Scout. I have used and abused it. Ok, I haven't really abused it, chopping down dead trees is just fun :)

By the way, your grammar is excellent compared to many native English speakers.
