All I'm waiting on now are two of the ESEE5-only sheaths, two, one for my BK2 and one for an ESEE-5.

I had my boss drive me by my house over the lunch hour while we talked business.....I live a mile and a half away from work. We stopped at the coffee shop a block away for 5 minutes, then when we turned the corner onto my street I saw the USPS Van in my driveway! I got super excited at my perfect timing.....I knew it would show up right around 11:30 AM or so and was right.

About to unbox right now. I'll snap some pics for you guys later tonight.....I picked up some batteries for my camera.

The 5 is pretty sweet and the 6 is a good-sized bigger knife upon first impression. Once I dink around with them, fitting sheaths and such I'm sure I'll have some more comments. The 5 feels especially solid and tough and the 6 a bit sleeker but still big. I'd definitely use the 5 for the hardest tasks and the 6 for big tasks or ones the 4 or 3 won't work well with.

Does anybody have any requests for specific pictures or comparisons between the ESEE line of knives (or Becker BK2, BK7, BK11, ESKabar), BladeTech Tek-Lok clips and locks, sheaths or anything? Blade or handle thickness, lengths compared, comparing choil choke-up grips to regular grips on a smaller knife........ I do not own the Junglas or the Lite Machete, though. I still might receive the ESEE5 MB's for the 5 and BK2 later today....well I should but don't know if I'll need to sign for them or not.

Cool! and could you please take a side by side of the esee-6 and esee-4 for overal size, handle differences, and spines?

i love to see side by side pics of the 5 and bk2. when i was trying to decide between the two, it was hard to find good comparisons. i know there is a couple youtube videos, but every little bit counts. since those two are very similar in design and purpose, it would be cool if you could post a review thread comparing them after some play. i've made my decision already, but i'm sure there are some out there going through the same struggle i did. heck, i still want a bk2 even though i want the 5 more.

I will stop by my apartment on the way to my girlfriends and pick up my BK2 and BK7. She is probably going to think I'm f'n crazy whipping out 10 or so different knives and comparing them......actually she won't care she knows about my hobbies.

hahaha... no rush. it's not a big deal. i was just thinking it would be good for some to see.

weird, i never tried to see if the bk-2 will fit in the esee-5's sheath although i did try the bk-9 on the junglas' sheath - fits perfect by the way. let me know if it fits. i can't try it since i don't have the 5 anymore.

edit: looking at these pics, now i remember. the bk-2 is a taller blade (edge to spine) but try it anyway to see if it fits in the 5's sheath.

The BK2 'barely' fits inside of the ESEE5 sheath and I have a feeling I am cutting a groove into the kydex insert. I'm not too sure if I'll keep using it, although the sheath design seems to be a good shape.....just wish it was a tad bigger.

edit: I am going to need to sand down some of the inner part to make it fit better. I totally dulled the edge on the base of the blade.
