All I'm waiting on now are two of the ESEE5-only sheaths, two, one for my BK2 and one for an ESEE-5.
I had my boss drive me by my house over the lunch hour while we talked business.....I live a mile and a half away from work. We stopped at the coffee shop a block away for 5 minutes, then when we turned the corner onto my street I saw the USPS Van in my driveway! I got super excited at my perfect timing.....I knew it would show up right around 11:30 AM or so and was right.
About to unbox right now. I'll snap some pics for you guys later tonight.....I picked up some batteries for my camera.
The 5 is pretty sweet and the 6 is a good-sized bigger knife upon first impression. Once I dink around with them, fitting sheaths and such I'm sure I'll have some more comments. The 5 feels especially solid and tough and the 6 a bit sleeker but still big. I'd definitely use the 5 for the hardest tasks and the 6 for big tasks or ones the 4 or 3 won't work well with.
Does anybody have any requests for specific pictures or comparisons between the ESEE line of knives (or Becker BK2, BK7, BK11, ESKabar), BladeTech Tek-Lok clips and locks, sheaths or anything? Blade or handle thickness, lengths compared, comparing choil choke-up grips to regular grips on a smaller knife........ I do not own the Junglas or the Lite Machete, though. I still might receive the ESEE5 MB's for the 5 and BK2 later today....well I should but don't know if I'll need to sign for them or not.
