Just got a Spyderco Lil' Temperance and Fallkniven WM-1. Thought I'd give my first impressions.

First the the Lil' Temperance. Mean lookin' knife. Was a little akward to open the first time or two since because of the wide handle and blade. Closing is a mystery to me. The liner lock is at the top. I have been rolling the knife in my hand and unlocking with my thumb. I would appreciate if anyone has a better method, let me know. Blade was sharp, but have seen sharper from factory production knives. This may easy become my work knife, but I fear the wide blade may frighten the sheeple. Opinions??

The WM-1 is a neat little knife. I anticipate using this as my small game hunting knife. Not sure what the handle is made of, but it fits my hand well and has sorta a rubbery feeling to it. The edge on the blade was somewhat disapointing. I had to touch it up a good bit before it was a workable edge. I got the kydex sheath. Fit is excellent. Looking forward to trying it out this season.

Any thoughts??

Steve - I'm a bit surprised to hear the edge on the WM-1 wasn't up to par. I've had the opportunity to examine a few specimens from the Fallkniven line and each one had shaving sharp edges. I'd be interested in reading some of your thoughts on it after using it a bit.

The WM 1 is one of the nicest small utility fixed blades I know of. My only concern is the somewhat uncomfortably "sharp" curve from the handle to the guard. Other than that, I find the blade shape as well as the size, the steel and the handle material to be great.

According to Fällkniven´s homepage, the handle is made from Thermorun E.

Thanks for the responses, guys. The WM-1 looks like a winner, as far as a hunting knife goes. Small game opens in its entirety on Nov. 2 so I hope to give it a work out. As of now, squirrels are open, so maybe I'll blast a few in the back yard and try the Fallkniven out.
