Just received my first Mnandi, some questions

I apologize if this is covered elsewhere in the forum, but I was unable to locate the answers.
I just received my first Mnandi (about 15 minutes ago), and now have some questions.

I'd prefer to carry the knife in the leather pouch, but without the clip. Removing the clip, I see the male threads are on the clip itself, which means I would need another threaded male, non-clip entity to secure the end together. I checked the CRK website, and didn't see anything like that under the accessories. So with that being said, with a build date of September 2012 (new style clip), what do I need to remove the clip and then re-secure the knife?

Secondly, my first time opening the blade i thought the opening was a bit gritty, but the more i moved the blade back and forth, it feels too regular to be grit. It always starts and finishes in the same spot, and feels more like very small regular bumps, than grit. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal?

The screw is available for a very nominal charge from CRK and it will completely replace the clip, as for the grit, it's the damascus pattern you are feeling, it's normal and bugs some people but once you know what it is then it's easier to deal with. It's the cost of having a damascus blade but in my opinion it's worth it.

The only time I feel some small bumps is with certain damascus blades.

Hey Franz,
So yeah I got it this morning, and everything looks great. Do you know where on the site? I couldn't find that at all, I assumed that it would be easy to find.

Ok looks like the common wisdom is that it is functioning as designed, so that's good to know.

You will have to call them, but I have gotten a couple of the screws from them, if I had a spare I would send it your way.

I shot them an email a little while ago. So hopefully they can give me some direction.
