Fresh out of the box, the Impulse is one of the most impressive, production pieces I've ever seen. Mine is the bead blast, plain edge model.
I'm not normally a fan of bead blast blades but this one, with the matte aluminum handle, is a beauty
Fit, finish, egonomics, edge geometry are all outstanding and all for under $40!
The only minor (very minor) drawback was the knife arrived lacking the sharp edge I normally expect on my folders. A few minutes with the Gatco medium and fine stones fixed that quickly.
Right now I'm not very familiar with the Sandvik 12C27 steel althought it seems to sharpen and handle much like my AUS-8 blades.
