Just received my LG Sebbi! Got a ?

Hey guysn

I just received my large Sebbie and noticed with the paperwork that came with it that I should keep the edge hair popping sharp by using a sharpmaker or rod style system...right now I use DMT stones to keep all my blades sharp and like sharpening with a traditional stone...would this be ok for the Sebbie?

of course, why wouldn't it be? they just recommend that for the people that don't know how to sharpen a blade freehand.

^^ Exactly. It's your knife and you have every right to sharpen it however you want. CRK probably suggests the Sharpmaker because it's so easy to use...DMT stones are a great way to keep your knives poppin' hairs!

The key is maintanance....i think many people get a new knife and can't wait to re-profile the edge ....this falls under the saying "if it works don't fix it" depending on each persons tasks, usually a stropping is all thats needed to maintain a good edge.

I think the fine ceramic crock stick and a strop work well for keeping the edge up.

Remember that stones remove metal and unless the edge is damaged your just taking life away from the blade.
