Just received my new Benchmade Rant in D2

I wanted a new hunting knife and purchased the new Benchmade Rant in D2 and love it. Nice light knife with a very comfortable grip.

The only problem (not really a problem) is that the blade is numbered and says first production run. Now I don't want to use it and may buy another. Is this logical thinking? Would this knife ever increase in value that much?

I have #4, so unless im offered 1000 bucks in the next 10 minutes, im useing it.
 
Use the Rant in good health. First Production markings do not make for a rare knife and so I would put it to use!
 
I have never really understood the reasoning behind first production run inscriptions.
For me, the less writing on a blade, the better.
 
Use it, it is what it was designed for. I love my 440C Rant. I will pick one up in D2 as well.
 
man I almost paid a lot of money for a Rant DPT last weekend. Our local Gander Mountain had TONS of Red class Rant DPTs and Bowies. They wanted $69 for them. I tried to get them to lower the price because they were discontinued but the wouldn't (didnt think they would but thought I'd try). I really want a 440C DPT but websites are pretty much out of them (PE stonewashed). I wanted to buy one so bad but couldnt justify the $70 bucks. I guess I'll try the D2 one, I'm just not a big fan of the steel.
