I just opened this and could not be more unhappy with a knife. The lock is so sticky that i needed another knife to pry the lock back, blade hitting the liner. I expect WAY more from Boker Solingen. It is already in the mail back to knifecenter, and thanks to them for great service and speedy delivery. I will get a refund, even if i got a "bad one", no thanks. To much money for poor f & f. I own many Bokers: Leo III collector, Leo IV, Damascus Hunter, Damascus Beauty, 140 anvsy. Intergral.

MT,
It bums me out about to hear about your situation. I had a problem with an Advanced Folding Dagger a few months back :grumpy:so I posted the problem, and the next day Terry (Boker USA) advised me to send it in to be checked out. Terry replaced the unit with no questions asked. The AFD he sent me was top notch, no blade rub...blade centered etc etc.

Thanks Shawn, i just have not had any problem with any of my Bokers and was very surprised. I just thought the overall ergonomics of the lock, besides it sticking like epoxy, were not for me. I will buy many more Bokers, should have just bought the fellow damascus like i wanted to.

I am sorry about your troubles. Considering the purchase of a TLD myself - via evil-bay - you may have helped my decision. The vendor I had selected does not offer refunds, so that was troubling. The Gentleman's Knife at a local shop may be my next target. Thanks for posting your troubles - and the best of luck with your resolution.

Sadness today - my local Boker source has a new Titan Lightweight Defender in the case. Perusing it I found it to be lop-sided when closed - the blade hit the Ti liner, making closure less smooth than a $319 knife should be. The tumble finished blade - and dull looking G10 - seemed to give it a look of an old knife, too. The blade printing seemed indistinct as well. I was not impressed, especially after my Haddock and Titan Worker. I think I will look more into Benchmades for future purchases. My dollars go further buying US-made knives - the design, materials, construction, and QC seem more consistent, too. I still love my Boker classics, of course.

PS Went back today... the SN was 0108 - pretty low. The canvas Micarta looked beige - not green by any stretch (I thought my Titan Worker's brown Micarta was dull... good grief!). The blade side opposite the liner lock drug as it was closed - already marring the blade. The scales had two double sets of attaching screws - and did not look like the catalog picture. Neither did the writing on the blade. The box had a matching SN and the correct knife model number - 110931. The knife manager will return the knife Monday to Boker USA. I left empty handed.
