First impressions: Great knife, nice feel in the hand, great lines, a "small" knife that seems Big !! Overall, I like it !!
Now for The Question: how do I sharpen it ?? I ask this because the knife was a bit dull. I got out my diamond stone and ran it across the blade a few times.
---- Note also that this is not the edge grind which is on my other knives. I don't know the exact nomenclature, but it's only ground on one side of the blade, the other side is flat. I hope that makes sense.
Anyway, what has actually happened is that a big burr has formed along the edge (and wasn't there before) and is actually on the side which I was moving over my diamond stone !! This is completely unexpected, I thought such a burr would form on the other side away from the stone. Clear as mud ??
So now I'm sitting quite puzzled by this and waiting for the experts to straighten me out. I also notice that the burr doesn't "respond" to more aggressive efforts to grind it off, it just stays there and mocks me !! Am I experiencing the joys of the hardness of the BG-42 steel ??
What have I gotten myself into ??
Cheers,
Carl
