Received the ZT 561 today from Calvin (bladeforums dealer).

Pretty darn nice, and light for the size.
Let's start off with the complaints
Small complaint:
Kinda of a funny buffed off edge. You can tell it was sharpened but somehow has the edge has been micro beveled to a very awkward angle. The edge will slide and feels smooth, but with some pressure will cut.
Quite disappointing since many end users do not know how to sharpen knives.
Other issue is the lockbar squeaks when opening and closing, I suspect it has to do with the tension, and bearing.
I will just lube it a tiny bit and it should be fine.

The knife itself is darn well finished, and overbuilt like a tank. 0 side to side or up and down play. No sticky lock. Super smooth opening/closing, much better than my Sebenza or sebenzas I've owned without a doubt. Also feels like a bank vault. Centered. Good and grippy without becoming sharp. My jimping is not sharp enough to bother me, I prefer it the way it is.

Will give my opinions on it as a knife and do a review after some months of use!

The squeaking is oil in the detent ball track, or, at least was on my 0560. If you take it apart and wipe off the detent ball and the track in the blade it should stop squeaking

dont you feel that the lightness is a slight bit underwhelming? i wish it was closer to the junk yard dog in weight.... glad you like it tho, its a lot of knife

I would like a little extra weight, i'm looking into getting a Ti scale made to add a little weight

I posted in the "scale makers for kershaws" forum, and a gent contacted me about doing a custom

Weight is fine, I am unsure what it is with people buying titanium w/ G10 knives and wanting a heavy knife.
For a fixed blade I could understand since you may need the mass to generate more force to hack, but for a folder the lighter the better.

Besides the ZT561 is overbuilt from what I see..

i guess im in my own corner on this one. i just prefer heft to my knives, like the 0700 feels right weight wise, better than the 0561 at least

Other thing you must understand is that the ZT561 is well balanced at the finger choil, this adds the knife feeling light.

I'm with you. The lightness of the 0560 is a little freakish. It took some getting used to. I'm used to carrying an 0200.
