Just recieved my Microtech SOCOM M/A. Posted a thread earlier looking for feedback on the lock. Recieved mixed reviews, so I decided to order one from a place with return policy. I just really like the design and had to see for myself.

I did the spine whack test. It folded on the 3rd whack, but none thereafter. It seems to hold up fine now. I'm glad because I really like the blade but don't want something thats going to let me down. MT seems to have come through.

From what I have read in prior threads the MT needs to be seated, as you have done.
Should be fine now, but never fully trust anything mechanical, ie, don't abuse.
