Okay. I just recieved a set of the phosphor bronze washers in the mail, for my Manix. Holy crap are they small  . Anyway, the question is why are they so small?. The ones on my large sebbie were about 4 times the size of these. How can these make the knife open smoother, with being so small?. You would think they would need to cover a bigger area. Anyone have an opinion on this?. Thanks.

It may have to do with the fact that the larger diameter ones get in the way of the liner locks on certain knives. On some of my hand mades I have used two different diameter washers because of this. The larger one will work fine on the non locking side of the liner locks but for the lock side you need it to tuck in away from the lock. I know some guys that trim their own nylon or teflon washers for the locking side on liner locks also.

It would make sense that a knife company would stock ones that would work equally well on lockback folders, liner lock folders or whatever else was in their line so more than one size didn't have to be stocked.

The Sebbie has a bushing between the blade n the pivot screw. Spydies do not have a bushing, only the pivot screw. Thats the difference.
