I just got home from attending the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot. I've been attending this show for years (probably close to 12 years now). Lately I've been going down on Friday to hit the Busse table and also to see the show. In the past I've driven down for the pre-show festivities at the hotel and if you are after the one-off's this is now the place to go.
I used to be able to show up to the Machine gun shoot on Saturday and pretty much have my pick of the one-off custom Busse's. That is definitely not the case anymore. They are really bringing the knives to this show and the crowds have followed, they had a lot of knives still on the table, but when I arrived today (minutes after the show opened) there were only 2 Busses on the table.
I had as many Busse knives in my bag as they had on the table. :D

They did however, have a wide selection of Swamp Rat's and Scrapyard's still on the table so a great selection of blades still to be had but only 2 Busses. I'm going to have to up my game if I want any of the one-off's (start attending Thursday night again).

I only took one pic at the table but it may be something that interests many of you. This is a new Swamp Rat that was available at his show. Great looking knife and felt even better than it looks. Nice blade heavy knife made for chopping.

It was great to see the crew (Beef, Pokey, another girl I that I forgot her name...sorry) Also saw Mark, Eric and Guy, which is always a pleasure. Always fun to hang out with the crew and friends at these shows.

Thanks for the pic. Do you know what that line is running down the blades?

I don't think I noticed that line in person, I sure see it in the pic though. Sorry I can't help you with what it is. Maybe one of the guys that has one in hand can answer that. They'll probably be along after they sober up ;)

Out of curiosity, how was the machine gun shoot? I've debated about going for years. More crowded or less crowded than in years past?

there would have been plenty left over for you after last night if about three people wouldn't have bought as many as they did lol. I don't know if I'm more shocked or impressed at the amount of money spent by them. I can see now how all the knives windup in the hands of a certain few. Thats gow it goes i guess but I can guarantee I'll be at Knob Creek twice a year from now on to try and get what I want at a fair price from some great people. Thanks again Busse for a great time!

Do my eyes deceive me, or do those say "Swamp Rat SR 77?"

Please tell me one of them wasn't LK... :grumpy:

Yep. We had a discussion about this on the "Page 4" thread.

Those handles look really comfortable, maybe even more so than the RMD handle...

These things will be awesome heavy cleavers in the kitchen too due to there being no forward finger guard. Gotta get me one!!!! Aaaaahhhhh!
