After taking my girl friend to dinner tonight, we decided to stop at the movies, and make a night of it. We chose Cloverfield. Hoping for a good flick. We heard the creature was a giant whale or frog. But i knew better. With out ruining the movie for those who wish to risk the $9, It was definatly entertaining. The graphics were excellent. And the acting and story was done well. It was definatly a thriller. Its worth the watch if you can deal with the first person view of the movie through a cam corder. Which stopped bothering me about 30 minutes into it. I do recommend it if your looking for a visual feast. Alot of funny lines too. It was my favorite movie this year. That being said i enjoyed most of I am legend, and i liked this even better. Oh yeah and a standard, crappy last 30 seconds, as with every good film. I would say more, but im not giving away one detail as i dont want to ruin it. Let me know what you guys think of it.

It's funny, the camcorder view *started* bothering me about 45 minutes into the flick.

It was a great movie, though.

Yeah, i found i was looking at the screen with a crooked head for a while, gave me a cramp.

I had a headache by the middle, and by the end I wanted to find the film company and demand they refund an hour and a half of my life. I think about fifteen minutes of this film could possibly have been useful in a real movie.

I won't be buying this one on DVD :thumbdn::thumbdn:

I wouldnt buy it on DVD either. Its a movie that must be seen in the theater if your going to watch it at all. It would definatly suck on a regular Telivision.

I don't see how a small screen could make it any worse than it was. Considering the whole thing was supposedly shot on a hand-held camcorder, it might even make it more tolerable. It doesn't really matter, life is too short to waste any of it watching that turkey again.

Somebody on Rotten Tomatoes said it isn't for anyone over thirty. That's me and then some. I actually got that impression, though from just watching the ads on TV. And it looks kind of juvenile, but I do want to know what the blasted monster looks like. The advertisers did their job in that respect.

The trailers make it look like an urban "Blair Witch Project" ripoff.

You get to see it and some others too, however you are never told where it is from or why its there. ,, as far as being a blair witch rip off, its not. Huge difference between the same style of filming and being a rip off. The movie would have honestly been much worse if not done with the cam corder view. Even though its annoying its part of what makes the movie for sure.

I greatly enjoyed Cloverfield. One of the best movies of the last 12 months. Much better, imo, than I Am Legend.

I just got out of the theater 20 mins. ago. I came straight home. It was a good movie for what it was. The acting and special effects were good. Do not watch this if you get motion sickness. I had to keep looking away because I really thought I was going to vomit. I'm glad I was able to drive home okay.

Matt

I saw it twice ...with two different kids...they loved it so did I...

Ummmmmm.........this may cause my man card to be suspended, but I think that I will go see Juno first......lol.

I thought it was great, likable characters, spooky ambiance! Just not sure whats up with all the downer endings in movies nowadays though.

Joe,

There isn't any nudity in Juno....avoid. :p
LOL..........I'm in the mood for funny and I have heard that Juno is a VERY good movie. On the other hand, even though I am a big fan of both Katherine Heigl and Judy Greer, I will wait to see this 27 Dresses flick on cable because, as far as I know, neither of those lovely ladies ever get nekkid on screen, so why pay big bucks for a middling comedy?
