... and let me tell you, this is, by far, the absolute BEST movie I have ever seen, bar NONE. For starters, even though it was a semi end-of-the-world type movie, everything was kept to a believable level. The injuries people sustained weren't toned down like they are in most movies, yet weren't blown so far out of proportion as to be ridiculous. Examples: A contact shot from a 12 gauge litterally ripped half of a guy's head off when the lead balls and expanding gases exited, and when someone got run over by an APC, his inards came out various orifices. Gory, but realistic. The fighting and gunplay was realistic, at least as far as I could tell. There were no fancy martial arts moves or anything like that. The good guys fought as I would expect highly trained special forces would, with many improvised weapons and everyday objects used when necessary. There are some brutal eye gouges and bites too. There was one part where the Major does a backflip during a fight, but even that was believable, given the situation and her skill level. The fighting in this movie really puts the fight scenes from the Bourne trilogy to shame. The movie is mostly set in 2035, and the firearms reflect this. They are futuristic looking, but believable. (Think the newer Beretta's, but a bit MORE futuristic-looking). None of this space-gun crap like the weapons from Alien.

All of this was tied together with almost non-stop action, and a great (if a bit cliche) plot-line. I don't usually buy DVD's, but this is one I'll be picking up.

To think I passed it up. Now I have to check it out. Thanks for for the info.

yeah realistic. . . like how a POS scrap car easily catches up to and repeatedly rams a 550+ hp, 200MPH-capable Bentley GT.:D Not realistic at all, nor was the fighting. It is nothing special.

Or you could simply watch the movie for free via same said internets. :D

I did watch it (free), can't say I totally hated it, but it was no Mad Max or Road Warrior. Definitely the same genre, with some 28 days later or maybe escape from new york thrown in.

Edit: forget the road warrior, this was Escape from Scotland. . . but where the hell is Kurt Russell when you need him?

Rat, you have a point there with the car thing. Speaking of the car chase scene, another unrealistic bit was how the cannibals somehow knew exactly where the good guys were going to be and at what time, even though the good guys didn't even plan to be there until the last minute.

Thanks guys! I'll check it out. Rat thanks again. Sadly, we could really use someone like Kurt Russel now a days in these types of flicks..... Any who, any gratutious breast scenes?

The only scene I can think of is near the beginning where a random bad girl is taking a bath, and her breasts show for about 2 seconds. Of course, she gets capped a few seconds later for trying to blast the good guys with a shotgun...

Like a wise friend of mine used to say, "If you want porn, watch actual porn." :D
