The C-Clips work well. I have them on Kobuns (the stock clip doesn't work well for me), a Drop Forged Boot Knife, a Gryphon M10, and others. The hard plastic bushings they come with are OK, but I swap them out with rubber bushings which are inexpensive.

The throat of the clip openings on mine measures 1 7/8" tall and 5/16" wide. I believe you could fit a 1 3/4" belt into it, though it might be tight. The ends of the openings are curved, but there is 1 3/4" x 5/16" of useable space to thread your belt in the clip. It's the same on both the small and large variety.
