Just sent a few knives to Richard J, I can't wait!!!

I just sent out a few knives for sharpening, one being a new lg Micarta Seb that had a pretty steep angle on it, I asked Richard to keep her convex and to look at it and see what he thinks. I also sent him a para2 a Buck 119 and my sisters Boyfriends- Tops backbite which is a wierd tactical knife( not my thing but thats all he's into) with a tricky giant bevel and recurve. I have a felling I don't know what sharp is yet:eek:. Does anyone have any pics of knives that Richardj sharpened for you?
 
I can say from personal experience that you need to be careful when you get it back. Those knives will be sharp.
 
i have richard do a super cqc 7 and told him i wanted a giant bevel on that knife. that back bevel was about 1/4 of an inch and mirror polished. That knife was so sharp it was crazy, I still have pics of the knife but you can't really see the edge. One thing i'll say about Richard is he's a class act he'll give you a call when he gets your knives and you tell him what you want and he'll get you fixed right up. I enjoyed talking to Richard over the phone just as much as using my knife he sharpened for me. You will not be disappointed.
 
Yeah he really is a good guy , I've had a couple conversations with him already, hes very helpful and has given me some pointers. Sharp is his specialty from what I've heard and seen so far:thumbup: awesome can't wait
 
he really could charge a lot more too, i think he just has a love of knives, because he certainly isn't making that much cash off doing this, I feel guilty when i send him in a knife and he sharpens it to that kind of edge for like 3 or 4 bucks, it just doesn't seem right, so last time I sent him a few extra bucks, just to make myself feel better.
 
Richard sharpened a couple of knives for a a couple of months ago. He did a Fantastic job!

No, he doesn't charge enough. He seems to love sharpening knives. I think he must have done a least a few thousand.....I asked him. He said he

didn't have any idea how many he's done.
 
my small sebenza just went in the mail to richard today.
hope to cut some arm hair next week with it!

the sebenza never was that sharp...couldnt slice paper well and had a tough time cutting plastic wrap around costco items.
 
I sent off my CQC10 to be sharpened and he did just that! It was scary sharp when I got it. I am thinking about sending it back to have a true v grind put on the blade. It would take a really long time doing it on the sharpmaker. His rates are so cheap its almost criminal. I sent him extra also.
