I was going to do another Christmas tree chopping thread today but I ended up just having fun with a couple blades and forgot about making a big deal over the tree. It's been some time since I've done some chopping and that made today a really good day!
I got out the new Basic 9 I picked up from Dennis (in Ma.) and the CF Sarsquatch I bought from Skunk at Blade West, and went to town in my back yard. Good times!
Look at this bad boy, all clean and comfy from its life in a sheath. Well, not for long my good friend...
I didn't bust it up much but I did give it a good workout (and myself too).
The amazing thing is after all was said and done she cleaned up with nary a mark. I need to try harder with these Basics!
And the squatch...I expected it to run well and it did. Not the best size or weight bias (for me) for a chopper but it was fun nevertheless.
I made it through the christmas tree, delimbing and cutting the base into toothpicks, then I limbed and hacked at that skinny old thing above that's got to come out by next spring.
