What shipping service does FF use?

I assume I'll need to sign for it? (sometimes I work nights so I sleep during the day on those days)

All of mine have come USPS Priority with no signature required. I'm not sure if that's universal but that's been my experience. I unfortunately work nights too so I know all too well the worry of having to be awake to sign for something!

I've literally slept on the couch (downstairs) a few times in order to hear the sqeeky brakes on the ups truck. :D

I've received 3 or 4 FF's directly from the maker in the past several months, all USPS Priority mail with no signature required; and I really appreciate that kind of service.

Just this week I received two knives (not from FF), both USPS Priority with signature required. Since our postal delivery person will not come to the house -community mail box- this meant I got a pink slip in my mail, had to wait a day, then drive to the PO clear at the other end of town, stand in line behind all the Christmas shippers, before finally getting my package.

I don't ship signature required, and wish others would do the same; insured, yes --signature required, no!

Doesn't insurance automatically come with sig confirmation? Maybe not.

I use to have the same issue. Mailwoman wouldn't come to our door even though it was a house with a box at the street. We complained but she claimed that she always did and never got an answer which was an out and out lie.

We have better service now at the new place.
 
Yes, we use USPS Priority for almost everything. We'll only do Signature required if you ask us to - some folks prefer that - but otherwise we just ship it regularly.

For International packages we have been using USPS Express more and more. It averages out to be about $12 more than Priority, but it gets there faster and (in theory) the package can be tracked after it leaves the U.S., which isn't the case with Priority Int'l. We do ask international orders to pay the full shipping amount because it is too much for us to absorb. But shipping costs are included in the price for all domestic orders.

Strig, I'll be able to check once I'm back in the office, which will be Monday. I'm hoping that by that time your knives will have reached you. When did you order them and which models were they? Hopefully it is just that you are in CA and we're on the east coast and it is holiday season, hence the delay. Maybe they'll show up today and you can open them tomorrow..
