Mr. Akers, please tell Chris from a former Scioto county resident he has my utmost envy. Almost makes me have the urge to want to move back and cut your grass & wash your car for you . . . :D
Are you going to follow this piece along like you did with the pictorial back in November? That had to have been probably the most informative article I have read or followed in a few years. Please post pics of the finished product, and thanks again for your time & information here on the forum.

Wow! This one is my style. A sweet hamon while not worrying about the upkeep. Bill is a great guy. I got to know him while he was making me his first bushcraft style knife. He is immensly talented and very p0assionate about his art. Im rubbing off on him...a little as we have different styles but he is always willing to try new things. If you dont own one of his knives, pony up and get one. I always say that I buy once for the knife and I buy more from the maker. Bills good people.

No this baby chris is gonna do, hes strong willed and wants to learn,so he IS getting it like it is, when he comes up in the spring ill have him do a w.i.p. Vid while i work or shoot some pics, and will do another w.i.p, its hard for me to do it all by myself

Hey, that will work . . . forget the car & truck washings & grass cutting, windows and the rest, you can hire me to run the video camera . . . :D

Just1mor, you would have to edit it before posting! Ive done a couple handles but I really am excited about this one. Im going to have to take my time as I don't want to screw this thing up. It means alot to me because of Bills offer. Its cool how this forum can spark friendships.

Funny thing about this one is I asked Bill to make it "ugly" in case I messed it up. So...he puts a double hamon on it! I think its prettier than the others I own from him! He cant make an ugly knife, its not his nature.

The bold line is so true. I posted in one of his threads & he noticed I had Ohio in my top line. He asked where & what area, & I found out he is just "up the road" from New Boston where I was raised. Still have relatives in Wheelersburg & Minford area, a few around Lucasville & Sciotoville. We will be coming to the annual reunion this summer in Wheelersburg, always a fun trip. It's amazing how small the world really is. Just from his posts and pictures of his work, you can tell he is passionate about it & is really a true craftsman. Good luck on the project, & be sure to post a lot of pictures.

Oh, Ill post pics, if, it credits the knife!

Hey Bill, check out the face in the scales! Weird.. looks like some sort of demon with horns

Shoot me some pics when done! You know I love Bill's work. (Still saving for one of his knives)

Will do Steve, I kinda um...changed scales! Actually I cracked em! But, I put a nice set of rosewood on there and it looks good. gotta fill some cracks and oil then im done! Let me know what u think. Its my 2nd set.

Oh, and shoot me an email if you want some info on any I own Steve. I can give you my impressions as I know you are a Bushcraft guy.

Here are some crappy phone pics but they are almost done. Gotta fill some small crevices but I think they turned out great!

Yeah, I learned a few things. Dont try to beat the pins in! Dont know if its "allowed" but I used a small file on the back of the pin holes. It seemed to make it easier because I only neede to tap them in. Hopefully she will stay together!
