Dean left a couple of hours or so ago with the goodies he brought over to show me.
What's to drool over? Why the Hanshee he won in one of John's Raffles of course.
If you haven't ever got to hold one of these you don't know what you're missing. This one fit my hand like it was made for it and I didn't want to give it back.
Dean had several other goodies that he brought that we went through with one of them being a TaiChi Sword his wife got him for a special occasion.
Dean has etched the blade beautifully bringing out the hardening line to perfection.
I graoned when he told me the outfit doesn't make them anymore, but that the crew who did was hired by another fellow and that there would probably a similar one made in the future.
Don't know what I would do with it, but I would dearly love to own one at least similar to it and hardened as well as his is.
Dean also showed me a khukri from India that he thought was chromed junk, but I'm not so sure.
There's a couple of good reasons that I think otherwise. One is that the blade shows slight surface etching unlike chrome does and the other is the way it was stamped.
The stamp appears to be made solid and in one piece instead of independent letters, generally a sure sign of quality.
Dean said he had posted a pic of it, but that it wasn't very good I urged Dean to post it again as the kukri also passed the file test and I figure it at about 58-59 Rc.
All in all a good visit with a fellow knife knut and to top it off Dean gave me a Beautiful Chinese Flute when he left.
That touched my heart and all I could do was say, "thank you" and it was one of those times that, "thank you" didn't seem to be enough.:footinmou
Dean is definitely one of the good guys!!!!
