Just kidding. I thought you might be interested to know that kitchen cutlery continues to get more and more high tech. Here's the new Boker titanium bladed 6" santuko chef's knife.

Take care.

Fred,
Is this knife supposed to represent some sort of an improvement in performance over their ceramic kitchen knives?

"Their" ceramic knives are actually from Kyocera. The main advantage I would see with the titanium is that they wouldn't chip by being stored in a drawer with steel knives like the ceramics do. Also they wouldn't cut the glaze on a ceramic plate like the ceramics. Otherwise, it's just another way to provide knives that hold an edge longer for people who don't or won't sharpen a knife (large percentage of kitchen knife users.)

Thanks Fred,
You know, 4 years ago when I bought my Boker ceramic kitchen knife from my local "cutlery" shop I specifically asked the owner why the Bokers were almost twice as expensive as the ceramic knives sitting right next to them that were being marketed under the Kyocera name. He told me it was because Boker uses such a higher grade of ceramic in their knives. Does Boker contract with Kyocera for a higher grade of ceramic than what Kyocera sells under their own name, or am I just an idiot? On second thought, don't answer that.

yours truly, idiot

Hi Fred!

What does "EOD-Picnic" mean? I´m a knife-nut and a great picnicer - but no American.

Thanks in advance!

Claus

Sorry, bad joke. EOD means exposive ordnance disposal and refers to people and activities in police and military that revolve around explosives. EOD people value non-magnetic equipment such as titanium knife blades. Take care.
