Worked a choil into my new Ultimate Hunter...and boy this is just how I like it. IMO much better than the the continuous edge all the way to the G10. Few pics after the mod and edge touched up on the Kalmazoo.

This is one sweet knife

Looks great!! CS should have done that from the start. What did you use to make that choil?

I've seen a couple of video on youtube showing Ultimate Hunter with choil. The knife should seriously be made that way to begin with. I feel like the semi circular in from of the finger guard were made specifically for the finger choil, considering that the blade is noticeably wider than the front guard providing space for a cutout.

This is absolutely the way it should come from the factory. Good job.

That looks awesome by the way, I'm sure you'll get a ton of utility out of it!

Thanks guys. Feels much better with the choil for sure. Used a grinder with a either a 1/2' or 3/4" wheel, cant remember.

Looks good. I have to ask, what does the blade rest on now when closed? Please tell me the edge isn't resting on the backspring area.

That was checked before the mod was done. No the blade edge does not rest on the spring area. Some Cold steel knives the contact area when closed is much closer to the edge, but not this one. Basically you need to just take one scale off then you can see exactly where the blade rests in the closed position.

There is also an internal stop pin where the blade tang rest on when closed. All triad lock blade rest on stop pin when closed i think. Just be careful not to grind on the part where the tang meets the stop pin.
